Write That Fic

Has your WIP list ever made you think WTF.
Do you ever wish there was a way to write alongside your fellow NSFW fic community and encourage each other to get your fics written and deadlines met?
Inspired by a certain annual November writing challenge but designed for NSFW Fic Writers, WriteThatFic’s aim is to encourage you to write often, help create a community aspect around writing, and hold each other accountable for getting shit done!Certain months will have specific word count goals you can aim for, broken down into easy bite size chunks to work on each day. Some months will be lighter than others.Monthly Challenges will be tracked using TrackBear

If you're anything like mod then you often need a kick up the butt when it comes to actually sitting down and writing. The thought of it can be completely daunting, but when broken down into smaller increments of a couple hundred words a day suddenly it seems much more achievable. For some people, the thought of going it alone is what puts them off.Whichever camp you fall into, WriteThatFic can help. This isn't a competition, it's not about writing more than the person next to you. It's about getting things written. If you want to compete against anyone, compete against your past self and write more than they did.

You can continue to write your fics in whatever word processor you're already using. Google docs, MS Word, by hand and type it up later, hastily typed on your phone between meetings, or even dictated into your notes app.Just keep a note of your word count for the day and remember to update your progress on trackbear! You can do this each time you've written some words, or as one big chunk at the end of the day.Don't worry if you forget to update on one day, you can change the date on trackbear to backdate it and it will calculate it accordingly.Similarly, don't worry if there's a day/s where you don't manage to do any writing at all! Just keep going when you can.Trackbear will automatically update your daily word target to compensate, so you can still strive to meet your goal at the end of the month. If you don't wish to use trackbear, you can create a spreadsheet or track your progress in a bullet journal or notebook!

FAQ

Why is this only for NSFW Fic Writers?
In order to protect our nsfw writers and the content they share, we ask all followers and participants of challenges and events to be the age of 18 and above. Please have your age in your twitter bio! Anyone found to be breaking this rule will be blocked.
Can I post snippets to twitter?
Yes! If you tag our twitter account @WriteThatFic we will even RT it for you! Just please make sure to censor names if you’re writing RPF (real person fiction), tag any trigger warnings and please abide by the account restrictions which are;
Absolutely no:
pedophilia
Underage sexual content
Sexual content involving minors
Sexual age play/regression
Necrophilia
Can I join even if i’m in X, Y, or Z fandom?
Of course! Mod themselves is part of the SKZ/Stray Kids NSFW community, so you might see a lot more tweets of that nature but anyone can join as long as they fit the age requirement. That being said, fan wars of any kind will not be tolerated.
Can I use this to work on fic fest deadlines?
Absolutely yes! We will never ask to see any of your writing for proof that you’ve written it, so there is no worry about your fest prompt being revealed.
What’s stopping me from cheating if you don’t check?
The only person you’ll be cheating is yourself, but this is aimed as a productivity aid and cheating isn’t going to help with that.
Do I need to sign up to TrackBear to take part?
Technically no. You could track your own word counts if you like! TrackBear has a lot of nifty statistics to see though, and makes it easier to see how your friends and fellow writers are doing too.
What if I want to set myself a bigger target than the current month on Trackbear?
You can absolutely do this! All you’ll need to do is set yourself a goal, and as long as you’ve joined the leaderboard for that month, any progress you make towards your goal will automatically count towards the WriteThatFic trackbear leaderboard.
How do I join the trackbear Leaderboard each month?
In order to join leaderboards on TrackBear, you must receive the link from the leaderboard creator. There will be a google form where you can sign up to receive these emails and you can choose whether to sign up for every monthly leaderboard email or individual leaderboards of your choosing.
If at any point you decide you no longer wish to receive the monthly emails, simply DM and we'll remove you from the list. You're welcome to sign up again at a later date!
